Chemical

Labels engineered to stay readable, adhered, and durable through manufacturing, storage, handling, transportation, and use.

TELL US YOUR CHALLENGE

A label that has to outlast the container

Chemical manufacturers need more than a label that looks good when it leaves the printer. It has to survive solvents, moisture, abrasion, and temperature swings, and keep critical information legible the whole time.

We work with chemical manufacturers, epoxy and resin companies, coatings manufacturers, adhesive producers, and other specialty chemical companies.

We start with the application

Treating every industrial label the same is one of the most common mistakes. Before we recommend a construction, we ask:

  • What chemical will the label encounter?
  • What type of container is being labeled?
  • What is the surface material?
  • Will the container be stored indoors or outdoors?
  • What temperatures will it experience?
  • How long does the label need to last?
  • Will information be printed internally?

For especially difficult applications, we can add a two-hit chemical-resistant varnish and durable film constructions for another level of protection.

Case study

Solving production challenges through label innovation

A chemical manufacturer in High Point, North Carolina was seeing labels tear during automatic application. Our team went on-site to see the problem firsthand.

The Challenge

The label liner was tearing in the automatic applicator, slowing production. Operators were also removing old labels from cans by hand before relabeling.

Our Solution

A label construction with a heavier, more durable liner for reliable application, and a blockout label that covers an existing label completely so nothing shows through.

The Result

Smoother, more reliable application and no more manual label removal, improving productivity and reducing waste.
